The  area of the metal used in making 50 such tools is 23100\ cm^2 .

Explanation:

As per given , we have

Radius of metallic disc : r_1=14\ cm

Radius of semicircular part = r_2=7\ cm

Area of the metal used in making one tool = Area of metallic disc - Area of 2 semicircular parts

=\pi r_1^2-2(\dfrac{\pi r_2^2}{2})

=\pi (r_1^2-r_2^2)

=\dfrac{22}{7}(14^2-(7)^2)\\\\=\dfrac{22}{7}(196-49)=\dfrac{22}{7}(147) \\\\=462\ cm^2

Now , Area of the metal used in making 50 such tools. = 50 x Area of the metal used in making one tool

=50\times462=23100\ cm^2

Hence, the  area of the metal used in making 50 such tools is 23100\ cm^2 .
