A torch bulb is rated 5V and 500mA. Calculate its (i) power, (ii) resistance, (iii) energy

consumed when it is lighted for 4 hours.​

(i) power=VI

=5× 500 ×0.001

=2.5 watt

(ii) V=IR

R=5÷(500×0.001)

=10 ohm

(iii) Energy dissipated as heat will be

H=VIt

=5×500×0.001×4×60×60

=36000 joule.
