A total ₹80000 is to be distributed among 200 persons as prizes . a prize is either of ₹500 or ₹100 . find the number of each people

Let the number of people getting ₹100 be 'x'
Let the number of people getting ₹500 be 'y'

we know,

x+y= 200 (i)

And,

100x+500y= ₹80000
x + 5y= 800. (ii)

solving (i) and (ii)

4y= 600
y= 150

x= 50

therefore 50 people get ₹100 and 150 people get ₹500.
