TO FIND :- Number of 25 paise coins.

SOLUTION

Let x be number of 20 paise coins

Let y be number of 25 paise coins

According to the question ,

x + y = 324 ... eq.01

20x + 25y = 7100 ...eq02

We can solve both the equation by pair of linear equation one variable,

y = 324 - x (from eq.01)

We can substitute this value in equation 02,

20x + 25(324 - x) = 7100

=> 20x + 8100 - 25x = 7100

=> - 5x = 7100 - 8100

=> - 5x = - 1000

=> x = 200

Now, the number of 20 paise coins is 200.

Hence number of 25 paise coins will be,

324 - 200 = 124(ANS)

The number of 20 paise coins = 200

The number of 20 paise coins = 200The number of 25 paise coins = 124 (ANS)

VERIFICATION

Putting both values in eq.02,

LHS = 20x + 25y

= 20 × 200 + 25 × 124

= 4000 + 3100

= 7100

= RHS
