A total volume of 3ml is delivered into a patient in 10 sec . When the needle is changed , 3ml of the same fluid takes 8.0 sec to be delivered in to patient under otherwise identical conditions. If the radius of the original needle was 0.3mm, what is the radius of the new needle

R1² / R2² = T2/T1

=> 0.3²/R2² = 8/10 = 4/5

=> R2² = 0.09×5/4

=> R2 = (0.3/2)√5 = 0.15×2.236

= 0.3354 mm

= 0.34 mm approximately

where , R1 = radius of original needle

R2 = radius of new needle

T1= discharge time for original needle.

T2 = discharge time for new needle.
