A tower is 64m. A man is standing at a distance of 36m from the tower observs the top of the tower with the angle of elevation 60°. Find the height of the man.​

Solution :-

Given that ,

Height of Tower is 64m

A man is 36m far from tower and he see on top of tower making angle of elevation 60°.

Now ,

Let the height of man be X .

DE = BC = X

Now ,

AC = AB+BC

64 = AB + X

AB = 64-x.....(I)

In ABD,

tan {60}^{o}  =  \frac{ab}{bd}

 \sqrt{3}  =  \frac{64 - x}{36}

36 \sqrt{3}  = 64 - x

x = 64 - 36 \sqrt{3}

Now , value of 3 is 1.73.

So ,

x = 64 - 36 \times 1.73

x = 64 - 62.28

x = 1.72

So , height of man is 1.72m (approx )
