Answer:
Let the initial population of town =x
New Population = x+1200
Decreased new population = (100 -11 )%(x+1200)
Also , Decreased new Polulation = x- 32
Therefore ,
x - 32 = 89%(x+1200)
x - 32 = 89/100 (x+1200)
100(x-32) = 89(x+1200)
or 100x - 3200 = 89x + 106800
or 100x - 89x = 106800 - 3200
11x = 100(1068 -32)
or 11x = 100(1036)
or x = 103600/11
or x= 9418.18
Since population cannot be in Fractions , therefore we take it as 8419
hence initial population is 8419.
Hope this helps you!!
