let us take 'n' as unit of food for a day

Total provision available = 1000people* 30days *n = 30000n

In 10 days the food they consume = 1000* 10*n = 10000n

Remaining food = 30000n - 10000n = 20000n

number of people now have = 1000 + 600 = 1600

Food needed for one day now = 1600n

No of days the food will last = 20000n/1600n = 12.5days
