Given: the initial velocity of the toy car, u = 3 m/s

           the final velocity of the toy car, v = 5 m/s

           the time taken by the toy car, t = 5 s

To Find: the acceleration of the toy car, a.

Solution:

To calculate a the formula used:

  • v = u +at                          ⇒ First Law of Motion Equation
  • Here, u is the initial velocity

        v is the final velocity

        a is the acceleration

        t is the time taken

Applying the above formula for a:

v = u + at

v - u = at

5 - 3 = a x 5

a x 5 = 5 - 3

a x 5 = 2

    a  =2 / 5

        = 0.4

    a  = 0.4 m/s²

Hence, the acceleration of the toy car is 0.4 m/s².
