Constant acceleration for 3 sec reaching velocity 4 m/s
V = U +at
=> 4 = 0 + a(3)
=>a = 4/3 m/s²
Distance here S = ut + (1/2)at²
S = 0 + (1/2)(4/3)3²
=> S = 6 m
deceleration of 0.5 m/s² for 4 sec
=> v = 4 - (0.5)4
=> v = 2 m/s
Distance here = 4(4) - (1/2) (0.5)4²
= 16 - 4
= 12 m
Total Distance = 6 + 12 = 18 m
Total Distance traveled by toy Car = 18 m
