a toy is in the shape of a right circular cylinder with a hemisphere on one end and a cone on the other. The radius and height of cylindrical part are 5cm & 13 cm respectively. The radii of hemisphere and conical parts are the same .Find the surface area of the toy. if the total height of toy is 30 cm

Total height= 30cm
height of cylinder=13cm
height of cone=30-18 (radius of hemisphere=height)
therefore height of cone= 12cm

C.S.A. of hemisphere:
2*22/7*5^2
=157.14 cm^2
C.S.A. of cylinder:
2*22/7*5*13
=408.571 cm^2
C.S.A of cone :
22/7*5*13
=204.28
Adding all C.S.As we get
  408.57
  204.28
+157.14
=769.99m^2 [Ans. =Surface area of toy]

adityavarman: Round of to 770 m^2.
adityavarman: 'off' sry.
adityavarman: got slant height by pythagoras theorem[ 12^2(height of cone)+5^2(radius of cone)= 13^2(slant height of cone). ]
umamaheswari12: ok
umamaheswari12: thank u
adityavarman: ur welcome.
