Heya!!

Cost price=1200

Selling price=1500

Total Profit=1500-1200=300

Per sack profit=50

Hence Number of sacks= 300/50

=6 .

Number of sacks=6.

Hope this helps you.

He had 6 sacks of sugar.

Given,

A trader buys sugar for Rs. 1200 and sells it for Rs. 1500, per sack of sugar he makes a profit of Rs. 50.

To Find,

How many sacks of sugar did he have?

Solution,

We can solve the question as follows:
It is given that a trader buys sugar for Rs. 1200 and sells it for Rs. 1500, per sack of sugar he makes a profit of Rs. 50. We have to find the sacks of sugar he had.

Cost\: price = Rs.\: 1200

Selling\: price = Rs.\: 1500

Profit\: per\: sack = Rs.\: 50

The overall profit made by the trader will be equal to the cost price subtracted from the selling price.

Profit = Selling\: price-Cost\: price

Substituting the values in the above formula,

Profit = 1500 - 1200 = Rs.\: 300

Now, the total number of sacks will be equal to the total profit divided by the profit made on one sack.

Profit = \frac{Total\: profit}{Profit\: on\: one\: sack}

Therefore,

Profit = \frac{300}{50} = 6

Hence, he had 6 sacks of sugar.
