A trader had 12 quintals of wheat. He sold a part of it at 13% profit and the rest at 23% profit, so he made a total profit of 17%. How much wheat did he sell at 23% profit?

Total profit of 17% = 13% from x quintal + 23% from 12-x quintal

Let the cost per quintal is 100.total cost is 1200

1200x 17% = 13% x 100X + 23% x (12-X)100

12x 17 = 13 + 23x12 - 23X

X = 3.69

12-x = 8.3 quintal

Misaki1: ans should be 480 kg
khiljee: yes it is 480 kg or 4.8 quintal. equation is correct. solved it wrongly I guess.
Misaki1: thnks anyway
