A train 280 metres long is running at a speed of 42 km/hr. How much time will it
take to pass a man standing on a platform?

To cross the man standing on the platform the train has to cover it's own distance

So time taken = Distance/ speed

= [(280÷1000)/(420÷3600)] seconds

= 2.4 seconds

Time taken to cross the pole = (28÷3600) hrs

Distance to be covered = 28 metres = (280÷1000) km

speed = Distance/Time

= (280÷1000)/(28÷3600)

= 36 km/hr
