The length of the bridge is 850 meter.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Let the Length of the bridge = x

speed of the train (s) = 108 km/hr = \dfrac{108\times5}{18}  = 30 meter/second

Time taken by the train (t) = 40 second

total distance covered by the train (D) = Length of the train + Length of the bridge

                                                          D  = 350 +  x

               ∵ speed = \dfrac{distance}{time}

            ∴ s × t = D

              30 × 40 =  350 +  x

         ∴   x  = 1200 - 350

            x  = 850 meter

The length of the bridge is 850 meter.
