A train accelerates uniformly from 36km/hr to 54km/hr in 10 seconds. Find the acceleration and the distance travelled by the car during this interval of time.

Final Velocity=54 km/hr=15m/s

Acceleration=Final-Initial Velocity/total time=15-10/10=5/10=1/2=0.5m/s^2

By 2nd equation of motion,

s=ut+1/2at^2

=10*10+1/2*0.5*10^2

=100+0.5*50

=100+25=125m
