A train brakes from 40m/s to stop over a distance of 100m . what is the acceleration of the train.

When brakes are applied, the uniform acceleration of the train is -0.6 m/s². We have to find the distance covered by the train before it come to rest. So, the train will go 520.8 m before coming to rest.
