distance = 12km = 12 × 1000m = 12000m

time = 10 min = 10 × 60 seconds = 600 seconds

speed = distance/time

speed = 12000m/600s

speed = 20m/s

time taken to cross the pole =6 seconds

distance travelled in 6 seconds = speed × time

= 20m/s × 6s

= 120m

so the length of the train is 120m
