Given :  A train covers first 10 km with speed 2km/h and next 20 km with speed 5km/h.

To Find  :  Calculate average speed and average velocity of the train.

Solution:

A train covers first 10 km with speed 2km/h

Distance = Speed  * Time

=> Time taken = 10/2  = 5 hrs

next 20 km with speed 5km/h.

=> Time taken = 20/5  = 4 hrs

Total Time taken = 5 + 4 = 9 hrs

Distance covered  = 10 + 20  = 30 km

Average Speed  = 30/9   =  10/3  =  3.33 km/hr

average velocity of the train. can not be find as direction of train is not given
