Answer:

375 M

Step-by-step explanation:

LET THE LENGTH  OF THE PLATFORM BE "L".

DISTANCE=LENGTH OF PLATFORM

45*5/18=75/6 M/S

L=75/6*30=75*5=375 M

Answer:

The required length of the platform = 150 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

Speed of the train is given to be = 45 km/hr.

Changing this speed into meters per second

⇒ Speed of the train = 12.5 m/s.

Now, Time taken to cross the Platform = 30 seconds.

Time taken to cross the pole = 18 seconds.

Also, Speed of the Train = Length of the Train/Time taken to cross the pole

⇒ Length of the Train = Speed of the Train × Time taken to cross the pole

⇒ Length of the train = 12.5 × 18

                                     = 225 meter

Now, Length of the Train + Length of the Platform = Speed of the Train × Time taken by the Train to cross the Platform.

⇒ 225 + Length of platform = 12.5 × 30

⇒ 225 + Length of platform = 375

⇒ Length of platform = 375 - 225

                                    = 150 meters

Thus, The required length of the platform = 150 meters
