Let length of the train be t and speed of the train be s
Speed, s = (t + 740) / 54 ..... (i)
Speed, s = (t + 960) / 65 ..... (ii)
Equating equation (i) and (ii), we get,
(t + 740) / 54 = (t + 960) / 65
65(t + 740) = 54(t + 960)
65t + 48100 = 54t + 51840
11t = 3740
t = 340
So, putting t in (i), we get
s = (340 + 740) / 54
s = 1080 / 54 = 20
Therefore, speed of train is 20 m/s
Speed, s = (t + 740) / 54 ..... (i)
Speed, s = (t + 960) / 65 ..... (ii)
Equating equation (i) and (ii), we get,
(t + 740) / 54 = (t + 960) / 65
65(t + 740) = 54(t + 960)
65t + 48100 = 54t + 51840
11t = 3740
t = 340
So, putting t in (i), we get
s = (340 + 740) / 54
s = 1080 / 54 = 20
Therefore, speed of train is 20 m/s
