a train has a speed of 60m/s at t=10sec and 10 sec later it's speed is 40m/s .How long will it take to come to rest moving with the same acceleration​

v = 60 m/s

In the second case,

t = 10 + 10 = 20 s

v = 40 m/s

So, acceleration a = -1 m/s²

If the train comes to rest, the velocity will be zero.

ie, v = 0

According to the first equation of motion,

v = u + at

0 = 40 + (-1) × t= 40 + (-1t) = 40 - t

0 + t = 40

t = 40 s
