Given : A train leaves Tirupathi at 6.00p.m. and reaches Hyderabad at 8.00 a.m. and another train leaves Hyderabad at 8.00 p.m. and reaches Tirupathi at 10 a.m

To Find : When will the two trains meet?

Solution:

A train leaves Tirupathi at 6.00p.m. and reaches Hyderabad at 8.00 a.m

=> Time taken = 14 hr

another train leaves Hyderabad at 8.00 p.m. and reaches Tirupathi at 10 a.m

=> Time taken = 14 hr

As Distance and time taken are same hence their speed are same

Let Say  Distance between  both stations = 14D km

Time taken = 14 hr

Hence Speed = D  km /hr

Let say  Train me et after T hrs of  6 PM

Hence one train travel for T hrs and another train for  T - 2 Hr

=>  DT + D(T - 2)  = 14D

=> 2DT  = 16D

=>  T = 8

8 hrs after 6 PM  = 2 AM

the two trains me et at  2 : 00 AM
