Time taken by train=Distance cover by train/Speed of train
so, 100/10=10sec

Let us suppose the electric pole as a point, and the length of the train is 100 m as given, and we know that it is moving at a constant speed of 10 m / s.  We need to calculate the time taken to cross the electric pole.

The formula to calculate is velocity  = distance/time.

                         velocity = 10 m / s, length = 100 m and t = ?

             So 10 = 100 / t

           10 t = 100

               t = 100 / 10

              t = 10 secs
