Add length of train and length of platform we get = (250+350)m = 600m
and time given is 50sec so
speed = D/t = 600/50 = 12m/sec
So to cross 230m platform it will take
D = (230+250)m = 480m given speed = 12m/sec
then time = D/S = 480/12 = 40 sec
So your answer is 40 sec.
