A train passes a station platform in 36 seconds and a man standing on the platform in 20
seconds. If the speed of the train is 54 km/hr, what is the length of the platform?​

let length of the train = T meter

& length of the platform = P meter

given , Speed of the train = 54 km/ h= 54 × 5/18

=15 m/s.

We know Distance = Speed × Time

since the train passes the man standing in 20 sec.

Therefore the length of train,T = 20 × 15

= 300m.

now the train passes the platform in 36 s.

so the total length = length of train + length of platform

=300 + P

so, 300 + P = 15 × 36

= 540

or,. P = 540 - 300

=240m

So , length of the Platform is = 240m
