a)initial velocity(u)=0

final velocity (v)=36km/h

total time taken=4sec

then, acceleration is -

acceleration= change in velocity / time

a = v - u / t

a = 36 - 0/4

a = -36/4

a=9

b)Distance travelled in 4 sec is

according to the third equation of motion ,

v²- u²=2as

where, s is the distance covered by the train

(36)²-(0)²= 2(9)s

1296-0= 18s

1296 = 18s

-18s=-1296

18s = 1296

s = 1296/18

s = 72m

therefore, the total acceleration is 9 m/s & total distance travelled is 72m

HOPE IT HELPS!!!
