A train starting from rest attains a velocity of 72km/hr in 5minute . assuming that the acceleration is uniform , find - a) the acceleration b) the distance travelled by the train for attaining this velocity.

t=5 min=300s
a=(v-u)/t=(20-0)/300=20/300=1/15 m/s2
s=ut+1/2 at2
=0+1/2×1/15×300×300
=1/30×300×300
=3000 m=3 km

20=0+a×300
a=1/15

s=ut+1/2at^2
= 0+1/2×1/15×300×300
=3000m
=3 km
