Initial velocity = 0

Final velocity = 40 kmph

Time = 1 hour

a= v-u/t

A=40-0/1

a=40 kilometre per hour square

Question:

A train starting from the railway station an moving with uniform acceleration attains a speed of 40 km h-¹. Find it's acceleration ?

Answer:

Given:-

Speed = 40 km/h

Time = 10 min

To Find:

  • Acceleration - ?

Here,

Initial Speed of Train (u) = 0

Final Speed of Train (v) = 40 km/h

= 40 × 1000m / 60 × 60s

= 11.11 m/s

Time Taken (t) = 10 minutes

= 10 × 60s

= 600 s

Formula Used:-

Acceleration (a) = v - u/t

Putting Values in the Formula:

= 11.11 - 0/ 600

= 11.11 /600 m/s²

= 0.0185 m/s²
