Answer:

5 : 36 PM

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi,

Let the distance between Madgaon and Vasco be 'D' km

Let the train A start from Madgaon at 5 P.M.

Let the speed of train A be Va.

Time taken for train A to reach Vasco is , Tb = 1 Hr

So, Va = D/Tb = D kmph

Let the train B start from Vasco at 5 P.M

Let the speed of train B be Vb.

Time taken for train B to reach Madgaon is , Ta = 3/2 Hr

So, Vb = D/Tb = D/3/2 = 2D/3 kmph

For the 2 trains, to cross each other , both the trains should cover a sum of

distance equal to distance between Madgaon and Vasco,

Hence, total distance to be covered = D

Relative speed at which both the trains are covering distance D is

(Va + Vb) = (D + 2D/3) = 5D/3 kmph

So, the time taken to cross each other

= Distance/Relative Speed

= D/5D/3

= 3/5 Hr

= 3/5 * 60 minutes

= 36 minutes

Hence, both the trains cross each other at 5 : 36 P.M

Hope, it helps !
