Given : A train starts from rest and accelerates uniformly for 30 second to attain a velocity of 72 km/hr.

To find : What is its acceleration.

Applying formula :

★ Acceleration = Final velocity - Initial velocity/Time.

          Or

★ a = v - u/t.

Calculations :

→ a = 72 - 0/30

→ a = 72/30

a = 2.4 m/s

Therefore, 2.4 m/s is the required acceleration.
