a train starts from rest and moves with a constant acceleration 2 metre per second square for half a minute. the brakes then apply the train comes to rest in one minute. find (a)the total distance moved by the train(b) the maximum speed attained by the train and (c)the position of the train at half the maximum speed.

kirtiprasanjenpchfhd: ask
dityashahni: actually I don't get the answers
dityashahni: and i think my process is right
rakeshmohata: yeah
kirtiprasanjenpchfhd: show
kirtiprasanjenpchfhd: it
dityashahni: how can i show
kirtiprasanjenpchfhd: Okk then say in which part u have doubt

as you know that at first the train moves with speed 2m/s^2 for 30 sec so distance traveled in 30second=1/2* 2 *(30)^2= 900 meters
then at that time its speed=u+at=0+2*30=60 m/s...
as train comes to rest in 60 second the declaration will be 60/60=1m/s^2...
then at this time it will cover distance =60*60-1/2*1*60*60=1800meters
so total distance=900+1800=2700meters
and the highest speed is 60m/s
the position of train in half of its maximum speed is at time 30=2*t⇒t=15second
so position is=1/2*2*15*15=225meters
and other at timeof declaration at position 2250meters
