D= 220+280= 500 metres
T=20 seconds
S=D/T
= 500/20
25seconds

Answer-Speed of the train is 20m/sec.

Explanation-

Given-A train 22o meters long takes 20 seconds to cross a platform 280 meters long.

Find the speed of the train.

Solution-Distance is a numerical measurement of how far apart objects or points are. In Physics or everyday usage, distance may refer to a physical length or an estimation based on other criteria. The distance from a point A to a point B is sometimes denoted as |AB|.

In everyday use and in kinematics, the speed of an object is the magnitude of the change of its position over time or the magnitude of the change of its position per unit of time; it is thus a scalar quantity.

Time is the continued sequence of existence and events that occurs in an apparently irreversible succession from the past, through the present, into the future.

The formula used-

Distance =speed \times time

So, the total distance of a train is 220+280=500m

So, 500=speed \times 20 sec

speed=\frac{500}{20}

=25m/s

Hence the speed of the train is 25m/sec
