a train traveling with a speed of 36 km/hr is brought to rest by applying brakes . If it travels a distance of 100 m under a uniform retar dation before coming to rest , find it's value of retar dation .

u=(36×5/18)=10m/s, v=0m/s, s =100m v^2=u^2+2as=>0^2=10^2+2a×100=>0=100+200a=>a=-1/2m/s^2 Hence, r=1/2m/s^2
