▪︎Given:-

  • Distance covered by train at the speed of 15km/h = 30 km
  • Distance covered by train at the speed of 30km/h = 30 km

▪︎To Find:-

  • Average speed of train during whole journey?

════◄••❀••►════

▪︎Formula Used:-

  • Time = Distance ÷ Speed
  • Average speed = Total distance ÷ Total time

════◄••❀••►════

▪︎Solution:-

➢ Time taken by train to cover the distance of 30 km at the speed of 15km/h ;

Distance ÷ Speed

= 30 ÷ 15

= 2h

➢ Time taken by train to cover the distance of 30 km at the speed of 30km/h ;

Distance ÷ Speed

= 30 ÷ 30

= 1h

➢ Total distance covered by train in whole journey

= 30 + 30

= 60 km

➢ Total time taken by train in whole journey

= 2 + 1

= 3h

➢ Average speed of train during whole journey

= Total distance ÷ Total time

= 60 ÷ 3

= 20 km/h

▪︎Answer:-

Average speed of train during whole journey is 20 km/h.
