✔️STEP BY STEP EXPLANATION ✔️

It is given that,

distance, d=300km

let the speed be, s=x

if the speed decreased by by 5km/hr

it would be = x-5km/hr

the time taken will be, t=d/s

therefore, time,t=300/x

given that it would take 2 hr more so t= 300/x+2

Now,

d=s×t

therefore

300=(x-5)(300/x+2)

300=[(x-5)(300+2x)]/x

300x=(x-5)(300+2x)

300x=300x+2x^2-1500-10x

2x^2-10x-1500=0

This the EQn for your question,

solve this eqn to get the answer.
