Answer:

12 km

Hello.  I hope this helps you.   Have a great day!!!!

Step-by-step explanation:

Using A to B information:

speed = distance / time

= 108km / 45 min

= ( 108 / 45 ) km per min

= ( 12 / 5 ) km per min

Now A to C:

distance = speed × time

= ( 12 / 5 ) km per min  ×  40 min

= ( 12 × 40 / 5 ) km

= ( 12 × 8 ) km

= 96 km

Finally, between B and  C

BC = AB - AC = 108 km - 96 km = 12 km.
