A train travels some distance with a speed of 30 km/hr and returns with a speed of 45km/hr. Find average speed.

Here is your answer,


we know that when distance is equal and time intervals are unequal we use the formula
average  \: speed =  \frac{2v1 \times v2}{v1 + v2}

Here is v1 is the first speed of going and v2 is the second speed of return

Now we put up the value of v1 and v2

average \: speed =  \frac{2 \times 30 \times 45}{30 + 45}

Now solve this

average \: speed =  \frac{2700}{75}

average \: speed = 36kmph
