let the sides be x and 2x

1/2*(x+2x)*84=9450

1/2*3x*84=9450

3x*42=9450

126x=9450

x=9450/126=3150/42=1050/14=525/7=75

so the longer side=2*75=150

hiii!!!

here's ur answer to...

given the height (perpendicular distance) of the trapezium is 84m.

if one of the parallel side is twice the other then the parallel sides be:-

b1 = x

therefore b2 = 2x

area of the trapezium = 9450m²

==> 1/2×h(b1+b2) = 9450m²

==> 1/2×84(x+2x) = 9450m²

==> 42(3x) = 9450m²

==> 3x = 9450/42

==> 3x = 225

==> x = 225/3

==> x = 75m

hence, b1 = x

= 75m

b2 = 2x

= 2 × 75

= 150m

VERIFICATION:-

area of the trapezium = 1/2×h(b1+b2)

= 1/2×84(75+150)

= 42×225

= 9450m²

hence verified

thus the parallel sides are 75m and 150m.

longer parallel side is 150m.

hope this helps u..!
