Let the no. of kilometers he traveled by taxi = x km
Therefore no. of km he traveled by auto = (80 - x) km
Cost for travel by taxi = 15 * x km = Rs 15x
Cost travel by auto = 5 *(80 - x) km = Rs (400 - 5x)
Given total cost = Rs 500
Therefore 15x + 400 - 5x = 500
10x + 400 = 500
10x = 100
x = 10 km
No. of km he traveled by taxi = 10 km
10x = 100
x = 10 km
No. of km he traveled by taxi = 10 km
