The height of rest part of tree is :

A tree broken at a point but not separated. its top touches the ground at a distance of 50√2 cm from the ground base. If broken part of tree is of 100 cm.

1. Let the triangle formed be ∆PQR

2. We have given that, PQ = 100 cm, QR = 50√2 cm

3. We have to find length of side PR

4 Now, applying Pythagoras theorem on ∆PQR

PQ^2 = PR^2 + QR^2

PR^2 = PQ^2 - QR^2

= (100)^2 - (50√2)^2

= 10000 - 5000

= 5000

PR = √5000

= 50√2 cm

5 Hence, the height of rest part of tree is 50√2 cm
