There are 25 cartons of mangoes in total.

Given:

3 varieties of mangoes are carried by a truck in the ratio = 3 : 1 : 3

Number of cartons of the first variety = 15

To Find:

We need to find the total number of cartons of mangoes in the truck

Solution:

let the number of cartons of mangoes of the first variety be 3x

then, the cartons of the 2nd and 3rd variety will be x and 3x respectively

Now, we have -

3x = 15

x = 5

Thus, there will be 5 and 15 mangoes of the 2nd and 3rd varieties respectively.

⇒ Total number of mangoes = 15 + 5 + 15

= 35

Hence, there are 25 cartons of mangoes in total.
