A truck start from rest and roll down a hill with constant acceleration. It travel a distance of 400m in 20s .find its acceleration. find the force acting on it if its Mass is 7metric tonnes.

S = ut + (1/2)at^2

u = 0 initial speed as at rest

t = 20 sec

S = distance = 400 m

400= 0 *20 + (1/2)*a* 20^2

400 = (1/2)a * 400

1 = a/2

a = 2 m/s^2

s = 400 m

According to the second equation of motion:

s = ut + 1/2 at^2

400 = 0 + 1/2 × a × (20)^2

a = (400 × 2 )/400 = 2m/s^2

7 metric tons = 7000 kg

Now,

Force = mass × acceleration

⇒ F= 7000 × 2 = 14000 N
