Answer:

the initial velocity u=54 km/hr=15m/s

final velocity v=36 kn/hr =10 m/s

t=10s

v=u+at

10=15+a10

10-5=10a

-5/10=a

a=-0.5 m/s2

Given:

  • Initial Speed (u) = 54 km/h
  • Final Speed (v) = 36 km/h
  • Time (t) = 10 sec

To Find:

  • Find the retardation?

Formula Used:

 \\ {\boxed{\sf\purple{a = \dfrac{ \Delta v }{ \Delta t} \: \: \: or \: \: \: a = \dfrac{v-u}{t} } }} \\

Solution:

 \implies{\sf{a = \dfrac{ \Delta v }{ \Delta t} } } \\ \\ \implies{\sf{ a = \dfrac{10-15}{10} }} \\ \\ \implies{\sf{ a = \cancel{ \dfrac{-5}{10} }} } \\ \\ \implies{\sf\red{ a = -0.5}} \\

\bullet Negative sign shows Retardation.

Therefore,

The Retardation of truck is -0.5 m/ .
