A truck travels 100 km north and 75 km west before coming to a rest. How far
is the truck from the starting point?​

Hey mate ,

Let ,

O be the starting point of truck

OA be 100 Km due North

and AB be 75 Km due West

Thus ,

OB is the distance of the truck from the starting point .

Applying Pythagoras Theorem ,

 {ob}^{2}  =  {100}^{2}  +  {75}^{2}

 {ob}^{2}  = 10000 + 5625

 {ob}^{2}  = 15625

ob =  \sqrt{15625}

OB = 125 KM due NORTH - WEST
