then the digit in the tens place =4-x

* required number = 10(4-x)+x

=40-10x+x

=40-9x

then the number after interchanging digits = 10x+(4-x)10x+4-x

=10x+4

according to question

40-9x+18=10x+4

58-4x=10x+4

6x=54x=54/6

x=9
