Let the triangle be ∆ABC where AB=5 cm. and BC=1.5 cm.

By using property of the length of sides of triangle:-

AB-BC<AC ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀...(The difference of two sides ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀of triangle is smaller than ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀length of third side)

5-1.5< AC

3.5 cm < AC

Therefore, the length of AC will be greater than 3.5 cm.
