A uniform ladder of mass 10kg leans against a smooth vertical wall making an angle of 53 degree with it.The other end rests on a rough horizontal force.Find the normal force and the frictional force that the floor exerts on the ladder.

In the ladder which  is of length L there are basically 4 forces which are acting on the ladder.

The weight is denoted as W now we calculate the weight that is W= 10*9.8=98N

In the floor the vertical reaction which is acting upwards  is equal to the Weight W

The two couples must be equal  we solve for the friction F

W(l/2)sin? = FLcos?

= [w/2]tan?

= {98/2} tan 53o

= 65 N
