Firstly, superb question !!
7 stubs = 1 cigarette
49 stubs = 7 cigarettes
1 cigarette = 3/4hr
7 cigarettes = 3/4*7
=21/4 hrs
=315 min=1) 5hr 15 min or 5.25 hr

Answer:

6 hours

Step-by6  hours-step explanation:

a stub is equal to 1/7 of a cigarette and that only 6/7 of the cigarette is actually smoked.

So he can start by making 7 cigarettes from the 49 stubs.

After smoking those, he will have 7 more stubs left over to make another cigarette. And when that is done he will have one stub remaining.

Answer:

8 * 3/4 = 6 hours
