Given,

He sold 50% carrots in the morning.

75% of the remaining carrots were sold later.

Final remaining amount = 16.25 kg

To find,

Total amount of carrot in the morning.

Solution,

Let, the total carrot = x kg

Remaining carrots after morning = x- (x×50/100) = x-x/2 = x/2 kg

Final remaining carrots = x/2 - (x/2 × 75/100) = x/2 - (x/2×3/4) = x/2 - 3x/8 = 4x-3x/8 = x/8 kg

According to the data mentioned in the question,

x/8 = 16.25

x = 130

Hence, the total amount of carrots is 130 kg.
